What You'll Do:
As a Preconstruction & Design Project Engineer II, you'll partner closely with our Preconstruction Manager, leading the charge in managing design professionals, reviewing plans, and ensuring everything aligns seamlessly with project goals and budgets. You will be the critical link between our team and third-party consultants, collaborating with city officials, architects, and contractors to deliver projects that meet Thompson Thrift’s high standards for quality and innovation.
- Shape the Vision: Dive into plans at every phase to spot coordination issues, cost considerations, and compliance with accessibility and construction standards.
- Drive the Process: Manage RFPs for contractor proposals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with our budget and project vision.
- Collaborate for Success: Work closely with general contractors and design consultants to make sure every project stays on track and on budget.
- Solve Challenges: Analyze contractor proposals, geotechnical reports, and design recommendations to guarantee seamless project execution.
- Lead with Confidence: Step into meetings with assertiveness, guiding discussions with architects, civil engineers, and other design professionals.
Our Ideal Candidate for this Role:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field and at least 3 years of experience in preconstruction, project management, or development.
- Technical Mastery: Advanced skills in MS Office and project management software to keep every detail organized and on point.
- Leadership: The ability to lead meetings, identify design deficiencies, and ensure every part of the project aligns with Thompson Thrift’s high standards.
- Multitasking Master: The ability to juggle multiple projects with ease while maintaining a sharp attention to detail.
