Job Responsibilities: What you will do

Responsible for providing technical support for the database environment including overseeing the development and organization of databases, assessment and implementation of new technologies and providing IT with a long-term perspective on the relationship between database technology and business objectives.

  • Maintain system level entity relationship diagrams, translate business requirements into transactional database schema designs.
  • Assess the appropriateness of replicated data and verify compatibility of database tool and application software packages with existing database architectures and standards.
  • Maintain meta data, administer the development and staging environments data repository.
  • Determine data types and optimize the physical database design for the specific Database Management System (DBMS).
  • Approve schema changes, call patterns and Sequel (SQL) code.
  • Code and install changes to the database schema, stored procedures and replication processes utilizing DBMS or package-specific techniques as appropriate.
  • Work closely with a team of developers and be actively involved in design decisions; consult developers on performance and optimizing SQL scripts.
  • Develop and execute procedures to validate changes to the database infrastructure.
  • Prepare required documentation and participate in change control.
  • Work with production database administrators to migrate schema and stored procedure changes to production and participate in the verification processes.
  • Model, define, create and maintain database resources.
  • Create and/or review data models.
  • Review and test new technologies and architectures that support and are aligned with applications.
  • Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Qualifications: What you need to bring

  • 5+ years in data analysis, database administration, or database replication in a high volume multi-platform transactional environment required.
  • Experience with data warehousing technologies preferred.
  • Bachelor's or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
  • Must possess conceptual knowledge of project management techniques.
  • Must possess solid technical skills with ability to research and solve complex problems.
  • Must have excellent written, verbal, and documentation skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task.


Pay Range: $80,000.00 - $112,500.00 Annual
