Description

The position of Assistant Controller is critical to streamline processes across the organization, monitor data integrity for accurate and timely financial performance, and maintain Corporate HR compliance.

DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop understanding of all areas of Accounting by Cross training
  • Develop rapport with staff by understanding the processes and willingness to help
  • Develop thorough understanding of general ledger by reconciling balance sheet accounts and working with Controllers on month-end close and preparation of financials.
  • Management of Fixed asset schedules
  • Management of Vehicle leasing schedules
  • Develop thorough understanding of Jobcost by reconciling jobcost accounts and setting up new jobs
  • Special projects involving cost-saving opportunities in Operations

CRITICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Clear, effective communications skills – both written and verbal
  • Bachelors degree required
  • 2-5 years of Accounting related experience
  • Intermediate mathematical abilities
  • Aptitude for prioritizing and coordinating a variety of tasks
  • Independent and proactive problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Disposition for accuracy, attention to detail, and organization
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data
  • Proficient in using basic office equipment
  • Mastery of entire Microsoft Suite plus Internet and email
  • Ability to investigate, gather information, and be self-sufficient

  • Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting
  • Moderately noisy environment with light traffic, office equipment, and guest entrance
  • No travel required
