Something Digital is looking for a Backend Magento developer. Currently, this role is 100% remote. We have offices in New York City (HQ), Los Angeles, CA and West Palm, FL. 


  • Analyze and solve problems
  • Collaborate with a team of passionate professionals in various disciplines (System administration, creative, marketing, sales) to deliver exceptional outcomes
  • Apply your expertise in PHP & MySQL & JavaScript & Magento to extend, enhance and build great ecommerce experiences
  • Gather and understand client requirements
  • Unit test and take accountability for the quality of your work
  • Estimate effort required to implement changes and enhancements
  • Participate in an On-Call (7AM to 11PM) emergency response rotation (Currently 3-4 weeks per year)

  • 3+ years’ experience with PHP
  • 2+ years’ experience developing on the Magento platform
  • Experience with the LAMP stack
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent


  • Experience optimizing and refactoring application code
  • Optimized web server configurations and have experience scaling web applications
  • Automation expertise with Chef or Puppet
  • Virtualization expertise with Vagrant or Docker
  • Experience with load testing suites like Gatling or Siege
