Sanitation
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Senior Quality Assurance Manager for Sanitation role is to support the Site Operations, Sanitation team and FSQA Managers at their assigned facilities to ensure adherence to Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation (PPC) Sanitation, Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) programs. Assist the Corporate Sanitation and FSQA Departments in leading the facilities’ Sanitation culture through their supervisors and team, establishing, and maintaining Sanitation standards, procedures, and controls. Works directly with corporate and plant management teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish, Implement, and Maintain Sanitation procedures at assigned facilities that align with PPC’s FSQA Corporate and Facility programs.
- Review facilities’ data and trends to improve Sanitation programs, ensuring continuous improvement in their assigned facilities.
- Focus on Corporate Sanitation KPIs, providing realistic solutions for gaps and recurring Sanitation opportunities.
- Provide support to facilities to help reduce Sanitation related FSIS Non-conformances cited.
- Interfaces with facility team to assist in problem solving, implementing the root cause analyses when resolving daily Sanitation personnel and processing incidents.
- Conduct Sanitation audits at each facility evaluating the overall sanitation process, reviewing Food Safety documentation, and other reporting information.
- Prepare weekly reports such as Site Visit reporting, Audit Tracking, & Plant Summaries
- Provide periodic technical Sanitation/Food Safety training in areas such as: Steps to Sanitary Restoration, Chemical Usage, Titration, Documentation & Corrective Actions, GMP’s and any specific regulations.
- Other projects and duties as necessary.
CANDIDATES ARE EXPECTED TO:
- Travel approx. 50% of time, with overnight stays of 2-5 days.
- Must be able to work varying days (including occasional weekends) and shifts to meet deadlines.
- Able to work independently and exhibit PPC’s values to uphold the Quality Pillar and FSQA Programs.
- Have a solid understanding of Hygienic Design and cleaning concepts.
- Provide Training to explain sanitation and food safety concepts to those not specialized in the field.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that their work is done efficiently and cooperatively with coworkers and leadership teams.
- Able to navigate processing areas and equipment.
- Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practices and enforces safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the facilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science, or similar field; or five (5) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and training.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be exposed to both an office environment and the production environment of wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the production environment is usually loud.
