Coordinates technical and analytical support and administration of selected corporate benefits programs and policies including retirement plans, PTO and other miscellaneous benefits. Responsible primarily for audits, reports, file transmissions and billings for all benefits plans. Serves as back-up and a secondary source of employee/customer in-person and telephonic contacts for most benefits and as the primary customer service source for retirement plans: consults with and advises employees, carriers and other third parties on eligibility provisions, regulatory and compliance issues and other matters related to both qualified and non-qualified plans and programs. Maintains, coordinates, audits and processes benefit records and billings. Works as part of a team to ensure efficient and effective systems and processes, customer service, quality of work, and productivity levels. Participates in the implementation and facilitation of system wide benefits related projects and events. As part of the Compensation Team, assist with researching and calculating salaries per union contracts and as needed based for non-union positions. Provide compensation assistance with wage inquiries, rate calculators, incentive, out of class bonuses, and PEP Program calculations. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Education: Masters Degree in related field
Minimum Experience: 1 - 2 years of related experience
Preferred Experience: 3+ years of related experience, preferably in a benefits role in a health care organization
Experience working with Lawson or similar system
