Responsible for the coordination, integration and operation of Perioperative Services (Surgery, PreOp/PACU, Endoscopy, and Sterile Processing) across the District ensuring a strategy, vision, and excellence in clinical practice standards for these services that supports the Palomar Health Strategic Plan. Provides consultation to the Executive Team on nursing discipline and operational matters. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all aspects of care/services delivered; assuring quality outcomes, patient safety and a level of customer service that strives to exceed internal and external customer expectations; develops strong relationships with primary customers and colleagues throughout the organization. Practice excellent employee relations and attention to employee needs. Develops and mentors a high performing management team for all areas of responsibility. Ensure financial viability by managing both applicable revenue and expenses to achieve annual budgetary objectives. Works collaboratively with the Physician and Business Development department to pursue opportunities to grow business. Effectively interacts and facilitates efforts with the Medical Directors for areas of responsibility. Actively participates with organizational leaders in realizing the short and long term objectives of the organization. Understands and adheres to the California Nurse Practice Act, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA Bill of Rights for Registered Nurses Requires 24-hour accountability.

Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Business or Healthcare related field OR
Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Nursing
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Nursing
Minimum Experience: 3 - 5 years Director level experience in an acute care setting
Preferred Experience: 7 years at the Director level or above in multi-hospital setting in perioperative leadership
Required Certification: Not Applicable
Preferred Certification: Not Applicable
Required License: Current CA RN License
Valid Driver's License
