Under the direct supervision of the Home Care Manager, the Business Development Coordinator's primary responsibility is increasing the volume of Palomar Health's Home Care Admissions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: creating and implementing sales strategies; conducts market research to identify new referral sources and market segments. Coordinates and arranges client events, meetings, and conferences. Responsible for creating and maintaining referral source databases, including contacts lists. Tracks prospect status and provides feedback to management. Provides administrative support to the Home Health department. Evaluates potential Private Home Care clients and acts as a resource to Case Managers and community organizations. Processes admission paperwork and contracts. Coordinates Home Care Services with clients/families, discharge planners and agency.

Participates in the evaluation of the client needs and support systems to ensure the appropriateness of all referrals. Identifies and establishes community partners to assist consumer awareness to support safe patient discharges, home safety and preventable readmissions to the acute care setting. Educates referral sources regarding admission criteria for Home Care.

Ability to build effective relationships with external clients and referral sources. Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders via phone, email, and in-person. Ability to speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education: As required by licensure and/or certification.
Preferred Education: Bachelor Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Marketing, or related field
Minimum Experience: 1 - 3 years relevant experience in healthcare or home care
Completion of Live Scan Background Check
Preferred Experience: 3+ years relevant experience in healthcare or home care

Required License: Valid Driver's License
Current CA LVN License
