Role Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the growing Accounting team at Oak Street Health! This role is available due to internal promotions and Company growth. You will be responsible for the management of financial records, analysis of financial data, and compliance with accounting principles and standards. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and curious individual that possesses a strong analytical mindset and a deep understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to respond quickly in a changing environment. This role requires strong oral and written communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the desire to innovate and improve. As one of our Senior Accountants, you will work directly with the Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager and other members of the Accounting and Finance teams.
Core Responsibilities:
Support month-end close by preparing necessary journal entries, maintaining supporting documents, and providing internal reporting to management
This role will be primarily responsible for joint venture accounting, investment accounting, and other strategic Oak Street projects, which includes managing relationships with our partners, being involved in accounting and finance decisions, and making and preparing relevant accounting records
Assist in quarterly and year-end reporting to Oak Street Health and CVS management
Prepare account reconciliations and other analyses to ensure complete and accurate accounting
Maintain the general ledger, assist with inquiries from FP&A, provide requested documents to tax professionals and auditors
Support Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 compliance on internal controls over financial reporting for key processes
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Time management, ability to multi-task and decisiveness are critical to success
Ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, business partners and other members of management
Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting concepts and experience in their application
Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills preferred
Workday financial skills preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
Minimum 3 - 5 years of progressive public accounting or Corporate financial reporting
Public Accounting or Public company experience a plus
CPA preferred
