Description

The RN Clinical Nurse Educator enhances professional practice and the provision of quality patient care by providing evidence-based quality educational programs and activities. The Clinical Nurse Educator plans, organizes, develops, and directs all in-service education in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and ACOG Clinical Practice Guidelines, and ensures nursing competencies are in compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulatory standards. This position will focus on the Operating Room Services Division to include OR, PACU, Cath-Lab, and Post-Operative.

As a Clinical Nurse Educator you will be responsible for:   
  • Collaborates with nursing staff and other disciplines at all levels in the development, implementation, and evaluation of education programs and services.
  • Assists in the creation of education tools and training based on identified needs of the hospital.
  • Works with tased on identified needs of the hospital. Director of Nursing Education to evaluate and modify training materials to maximize success and ensure training fully represents the mission and vision of the organization.
  • Assesses content of clinical and non-clinical in-service programs and makes revisions based on performance improvement data, accrediting agency standards, and Risk Management findings.
  • Oversee training/performance of new and existing NGH staff and provide specific feedback and mentorship.
Required Skills & Qualifications:  
  • 2 years of clinical experience in the Operating Room required
  • Active TN nursing license or compact state required
  • Master’s Nursing preferred. Bachelor’s Nursing required.
  • Employee must have valid BLS upon hire. ACLS, Chemotherapy Competency and CPI are required within 90 days of hire. 
  • 2 years of proven experience in Nursing/Education/Quality. Experience in integrated health systems in an academic medical center is preferred. Knowledge of short and long-range planning, program and instructional development, quality indicators, and data analysis, Joint Commission and CMS requirements for acute care operations and provision of nursing care.
