SALARY: $110,000-$122,500/yr. ($52.88/hr. - $58.89/hr.)
           
POSITION SUMMARY: 
Responsible for leading all key aspects of Morrison Child and Family Services’ (MCFS) Development, Marketing, and Communications as it relates to MCFS’ programs and operations, and the Morrison Foundation. This role provides an exciting opportunity to build a significant major gift fundraising program in support of MCFS’ mission, and strengthen our Marketing, Communications and Brand.  The person in this position will work closely with our Board Members and community of supporters to build, strengthen, and solidify relationships, enhance donor appreciation & engagement efforts, and develop and meet revenue targets. Primary responsibilities are to engage, assess, develop, assign and maintain segmented portfolios of donors and prospects; and to cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts from individuals, family foundations, and corporate partners.  The person in this position will lead fundraising strategy development, annual planning, and execution with the Development team, including the Development Manager – Major Gifts, Development Specialist, and Marketing & Communications Specialist. The Vice President will also be a key public relations contact for the organization and an outwardly visible executive engaging in our communities across Oregon and beyond.
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience, education, and training.
  • 5+ years of experience in prospect, pipeline, and donor cultivation work; along with experiential, donor-centric fundraising through a metrics-based, moves management development practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to close 5-6 figure gifts from engaged, committed partners. 5+  years of experience in a leadership role in a non-profit fundraising, community relations, and marketing setting; including supervisory & management experience.

VALUED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE (preferred but not required):
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) Certification
  • Major Gifts & Planned Giving.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Position requires occasional night and/or weekend hours.
  • Must be able to pass criminal history background check.
  • Personal transportation allowing for travel within the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan areas in a timely manner.  If driving a personal vehicle for work purposes must have and maintain a valid driver’s license for state of residency, personal auto liability coverage at the $100,000/$100,000 level, and a driving record permitting coverage under a corporate liability policy.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Development
  • Work collaboratively to identify strategic funding opportunities for the organization, and then translate that into direct fundraising activity and securing significant financial contributions to the organization.
  • Work closely with the CEO, Program Leaders, and various Board Members to grow and steward major donor relationships.
  • Responsible for leading and directing all aspects of donor engagement and cultivation, donor relations, donor appreciation & recognition, identification of new donor prospects, and enhancing community awareness of the agency.
  • Leads and manages the coordination of all fundraising and cultivation events, Morrison Legacy Society Planned Giving Program, holiday giving programs, identifying and securing foundation grants when applicable, and opportunities to engage our community of supporters with a strategic view toward long-term donor cultivation
  • Oversees Sales Force® donor database and giving portals/platforms, including supervision of data input and output, maintenance/update of donor records, and monitoring metrics to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to build a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization.
  • Manage, hire, and performance management for the Development Department with an eye toward future growth and expansion.
  • Creates and oversees data analytics and/or giving/engagement benchmarking to inform decision-making and strategy development.
Marketing & Communications
  • Oversees the scheduling and production of marketing activities in conjunction with the overall goals of the organization, including the development and distribution of internal and external communications materials such as quarterly newsletters, annual reports, organization and program brochures, organization and program fact sheets and flyers, presentation folders, special event invitations, press releases, video, and other relevant materials.
  • Partner closely with Board Members of Operating Board and Foundation Board; attending and presenting at Board of Directors meetings.
  • Collaborate with CFO and CEO in the presentation of fundraising & financial information as part of storytelling, marketing, education and engagement of Board members.
  • Source speaking opportunities for the CEO.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Willingness to work outside of traditional work hours; some evenings and weekends.
  • Hybrid work in assigned office as well as off-site for functions and events as required. Working conditions will vary.
  • Manual and physical dexterity allowing for copying, keyboarding, filing, writing, phone use, computer use, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • General office environment, with some out-of-office time for pick-up/deliveries, meetings, special events, and community outreach/presentations.
