We are looking for: 
Radiation Oncology Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) 
  
Our Radiation Oncology technicians need to have critical thinking skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask within a strong team environment. This team focuses on developing strong client and patient relationships due to many cases requiring daily treatments. You must be able to drive the MedVet experience of excellent patient care and compassion. 
  
What you’ll do: 
  • Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance  
  • Thorough understanding of anesthetic considerations and how comorbidities affect case protocol and perioperative management 
  • Monitor anesthesia, trouble shoot anesthetic complications and make appropriate interventions 
  • Continuous expansion of knowledge and skillset; advanced anesthetic skills include arterial line placement, epidurals, difficult airway intubation, and critical case management.  
  • Managing appointments: obtaining histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc., as well as organize and manage daily service flow  
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and complete 
  • Assist with radiation therapy protocols
 
  • Safety as it relates to secondary exposure and patient safety
 
  • Medications, protocols and related drug dosages
 
  • Drug calculations as they relate to the treatment plan
 
  • Side effects and general treatment guidelines
 
  • Setting up/assisting with CT and radiation treatments
 
  • Venipuncture, restraint, basic laboratory skills
 
  • Intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance 
 
  • Client communication and education
 
  
Who you are: 
  • State Registered Veterinary Technician license required 
  • Prior veterinary experience required, previous oncology experience desired 
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.) 
  • Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary 
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 Compensation: 
This position has an initial hiring range of $26.00 to $32.00 per hour based on skillset and experience.
