VetRad is entering a critical phase of growth, and this role is central to that transformation. The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new customer acquisition and delivering exceptional, strategic account management to VetRad’s most important partners.
 
As the first hire dedicated to business development and partner success, this individual will significantly influence how VetRad goes to market. Beyond traditional sales and account management responsibilities, this role will help shape marketing strategy, collaborate closely across departments, and play a key role in the direction and long-term success of VetRad’s teleradiology service line.
 
This position is ideal for an ambitious commercial professional who is energized by outreach, relationship-building, and having a meaningful voice in how a business grows.
 
Responsibilities

Business Development
  • Conduct proactive outbound outreach (calls, emails, events, networking) to generate leads and identify new business opportunities.
  • Manage the full sales cycle—from prospecting to discovery, solution presentation, proposal development, and deal closure.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline and consistently meet activity and revenue targets.
  • Develop a deep understanding of VetRad’s value proposition and competitive differentiation.
  • Partner with leadership to develop sales strategies, messaging, and go-to-market plans.
Strategic Account Management & Partner Success
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned partners, ensuring timely, proactive, and high-quality support.
  • Deliver a high touch, “white glove” experience to strengthen relationships and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Drive utilization and retention by educating clients, optimizing workflows, and promoting best practices that increase submission volume.
  • Develop and lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), presenting performance metrics, trends, and strategic recommendations.
  • Identify upselling, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Collaborate with clinical operations, customer support, and technical teams to ensure a seamless partner experience.
Marketing & Cross-Functional Strategy
  • Work closely with the General Manager to shape VetRad’s marketing direction, messaging, and overall commercial strategy.
  • Provide insight into marketing budget allocation, campaign ideas, and content needs based on real-time market feedback.
  • Contribute to the creation of sales enablement materials, outreach campaigns, and market-facing content.
  • Represent the voice of the customer internally and influence strategic decisions across the business.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, clinical, IT) to align priorities and execute key initiatives.
Data, Reporting & Insights
  • Track and report weekly sales activity, pipeline progress, and account-level performance indicators.
  • Analyze submission trends and market data to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and ensure high-quality data for forecasting and planning.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate has a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, and 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, account management, or a related profession. Healthcare or veterinary experience is a plus but not required.
 
Additional qualifications include:
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and customer needs.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Comfort and confidence with outbound outreach and initiating conversations with prospective clients.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
 
The posted range for this position is $88,000-$120,000 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
