We are looking for:
Rehabilitation Veterinary Credentialed Technician that is also a Doctor Coordinator (Hybrid position)
The Rehabilitation department focuses on providing the most advanced therapeutic care while working with the client, referral partner, and other MedVet specialists through all stages of the patient’s treatment.

The candidate should be enthusiastic to work with patients that have varying degrees of mobility issues including orthopedic conditions, neurologic disease, those needing geriatric support, and end of life care.
The Rehabilitation department focuses on improving strength and function by combining physical therapeutic exercise with modalities like hydrotherapy, cold laser therapy, shockwave therapy and more. This team is perfect for someone who enjoys preserving the human animal bond, and partnering with clients to help their pet feel their best.
What you’ll do:
- Prioritize caseload and patient care, prepare and review charts for appropriate paperwork, as well as ensure accurate documentation
- Restrain and assist with examinations and therapies
- Prepare prescriptions, fit harnesses and provide needed information for clients
- Discuss rehab therapy and recommendations, as well as address client questions and concerns
- Coordinate interdepartmental communication, services, patient transfers and consults
- Perform and/or assist with patient therapies using multiple modalities including underwater treadmill, laser therapy, chiropractic adjustments, ultrasound, Assisi loop and land therapies
- Directly supports specific doctor(s)for a given shift; may support different doctors within a department at different times
- Ensures follow through of departmental workflow for the supported doctor(s)
- Collaborates on scheduling of consults, transfers, and diagnostics
- Delegates team responsibilities as appropriate to team members (rounding cases, planning and managing diagnostic scheduling and information, etc.)
- Acts as point of contact for referral partner transfers/inquiries if doctor is unavailable
- Provides departmental client communication for cases (i.e. concerns, care plan discussions, Q&A in absence of doctor, etc.)
- Drafts medical record documentation for supported doctor(s). Creates initial patient history, documents/gathers initial vital statistics and treatment orders, scribes referral letter and discharge/dismissal letter for doctor review.
- Monitors e-mails and voicemails for doctor(s)
- Assists with and ensures completion of outpatient procedures as required by doctor(s) (bandage changes, radiographs, diagnostic samples, medication administration, etc.)
- May escort outpatient clients to and from exam rooms and prepare/maintain exam rooms
- May act as a mentor or trainer for team members
- Client communications; explain and relay information from the doctor about the patient, be able to thoroughly explain the rehab department therapy process, different modalities, and treatments offered (including underwater treadmill, acupuncture, canine massage,and chiropractic), confidently explain and demonstrate use of assistive devices (Assisi loops, HelpEm-Up harnesses, wheel chairs, etc)
Who you are:
- State Registered Veterinary Technician license required
- Prior veterinary experience required, previous rehabilitation experience desired
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, unit conversions, etc.)
- Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
