Assigned Shift Schedule
This position is assigned to second shift--4:00 pm to 2:30 am. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday; there is potential for Friday scheduling depending on business needs. 

Position Overview
This position provides shift supervision and direction as well as support to Manufacturing personnel to ensure timeliness and accuracy in the completion of manufacturing batches. This role is a liaison with other functional teams to lead and support commercial operations and cross-functional execution.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Production Oversight:  Provide direction and assist Manufacturing personnel in the successful manufacturing of commercial and large-scale clinical batches; lead team in the set-up and change-over of processing equipment; identify and resolve process and/or equipment failures as well as initiate appropriate action to prevent reoccurrence
  • People Leadership:  Effectively lead, develop, and support Manufacturing personnel; lead in the development of a culture, and supporting systems, to drive open communication, participation and intra/inter-departmental idea-sharing in order to build an engaged team; advance and model Mayne Pharma values and leadership commitments; ensure that the highest levels of quality, compliance, safety and integrity are adhered to in all interactions
  • Process Improvement:  Identify and recommend opportunities for improved efficiencies, client service and teamwork within Commercial Manufacturing
  • Quality:  Ensure the quality of work, products, and services as a first priority; comply with or exceed or exceed all regulatory and cGMP compliance standards as well as ensure accuracy and analyses as it relates to right first-time measures
  • Safety:  Adhere to all workplace safety laws, regulations, standards, and practices and actively advance a culture of safety within his or her team and organization

Specific Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership and support to ensure timeliness and accuracy in the completion of manufacturing operations with occasional operation of equipment and rooms to keep processes on target
  • Support and occasionally lead, under supervision, the scheduling and planning of client project work to ensure the highest levels of efficiency and quality standards are met
  • As assigned, serve as a liaison with other functional teams to lead/support project work requiring cross-functional support
  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of commercial batches
  • Maintain inventory system for raw materials components
  • Assist in decisions on equipment selection, purchases, and processes
  • Ensure manufacturing area and equipment are maintained in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
  • Recognize potential problems and provide input on corrective action(s)
  • Lead Subject Matter Experts in training and developing personnel
  • When necessary, assist in production or completion of batches
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and escalate problems that require Quality Assurance or Maintenance support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Associate degree with at least 4 years of relevant manufacturing experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least 6 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Demonstrated leadership experience resulting in sound functional understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes
  • Experience with inventory management systems and ability to learn to use QAD (inventory Management System) to assist in the timely start and completion of batches and documentation

Physical Requirements

  • Majority of work day is performed while standing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
  • Requires bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, climbing
  • Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Some exposure to hazardous chemical and other active chemical ingredients
  • Must be able to use a variety of tools, equipment, and machine
