What we offer

Reporting to the Manager IT Infrastructure, the Senior Cloud Engineer will be a key contributor to the design, implementation, and optimization of our cloud infrastructure in Azure. You’ll lead automation efforts, support DevOps initiatives, and ensure our environments are secure, scalable, and cost-effective. This role is ideal for a cloud-savvy technologist who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about infrastructure as code, cloud-native technologies, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do

  • Architect and implement scalable, secure cloud infrastructure solutions in Azure (experience with AWS or GCP is an asset).
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms, with the ability to diagnose failures and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
  • Own the monitoring of all cloud infrastructure resources—not just at the solution level—ensuring proactive tracking, reporting, and optimization as part of the processes you create, maintain, and own.
  • Lead cloud cost optimization initiatives through tagging, rightsizing, and reserved instance strategies. Track and report on cloud usage and costs, generating actionable insights and recommendations for optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software development, security, operations, finance, and business stakeholders to support DevOps practices and streamline deployments.
  • Monitor cloud environments using tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Implement cloud security best practices including IAM, secrets management, and compliance auditing
  • Document technical processes, architecture decisions, and operational procedures.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive cloud configuration guides and documentation to support operational excellence and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain high availability and fault tolerance through automated recovery and seamless updates
  • Travel occasionally to support infrastructure projects or team collaboration.
  • Participate in after-hours support and incident response as needed.

 What you bring

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD, GitOps, and container orchestration.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Experience with Infrastructure Automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, networking, and cloud security concepts.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with hands-on expertise in Azure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Bonus Points

  • Familiarity with secrets management tools (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault).
  • Experience with Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, and DevOps.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect or Administrator.
