Job Title:International Video Assistant

Department:Player Development

Reports To:Manager, Baseball Video Operations

 

 Primary Objective: Assist the Dominican Republic Academy coaches and staff with video and technology operations and help facilitate day to day Player Development operations as assigned. Position to be based in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic and reports to Manager, Baseball Video Operations. 

 

 Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate daily video & technology requests from DR coaches and staff.
  • Coordinate video capture and upload for International Scouting as assigned.
  • Collect high speed video and radar technology data during bullpens, live BP’s and scheduled games.
  • Manage video & data sharing platforms (BATS/TruMedia/PitchBase) and provide players, coaches and staff with in-game coaching videos.
  • Coordinate video trade between MLB Dominican Academies and facilitate video upload process to Seattle.
  • Prepare player video presentations for Player Development staff upon request.
  • Provide technological troubleshooting and serve as primary point of contact for technology issues.
  • Film, edit and upload camcorder + high-speed video from pre-game activities such as bullpens, batting practice and drills.
  • Travel to road contests to set up handheld cameras and chart games using BATS.
  • Coordinate daily video & PD operations during Dominican Spring Training.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

 

 Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Prior experience with BATS video charting software, Dropbox, PitchBase, Trackman, Hawk-Eye, Edgertronic cameras, etc. strongly preferred
  • Previous experience with an MLB or NCAA Baseball organization strongly preferred
  • Must be able to correctly identify pitch types
  • Travel will be required for all road games
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required
