Who We’re Looking For:

As a key member of the R&D team, the Principal Software Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of software systems that power our medical devices. You will utilize the Microsoft stack (C#, .NET, Azure, SQL Server) to create secure, scalable, and high-performance applications. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, regulatory, quality assurance, and clinical teams, ensuring that all software solutions meet regulatory standards for medical devices. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to strategic technical decisions.

About the Role:

• Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and efficient software solutions for medical systems comprised of Embedded, Application and Cloud software.
• Optimize software performance for real-time processing, data integrity, and scalability, with a focus on security and reliability in the healthcare context.
• Design and implement cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure for data storage, analytics, and device connectivity, ensuring compliance with healthcare data regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
• Advocate for and lead continuous improvement initiatives in development processes, tooling, and technology choices to keep the software systems up to date with industry standards and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent and 15+ years of experience (at least 10 years in Medical Devices).
• Practical programming experience developing software (C# preferred but at least one modern OO language required) for a medical device.
• Deep understanding of medical software development regulations (IEC 62304 specifically).
• Experience in the following areas:
  • C#/.NET/ SQL/Entity Framework/ADT/WPF/WCF/Unit Testing (NUnit, Moq)
  • Visual Studio /MS SQL Server
  • Automation Build, Testing and Deployment (TestStack. White and/or CodedUI)
  • TFS and related API

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with DevOps practices and tools (Azure preferred).
• Expert knowledge of Design Patterns and OO concepts.
• Experience in AI/ML integration in healthcare applications preferred.
• Experience with interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) for healthcare software preferred.
