Who we are looking for:
As a key member of the Commercial Leadership Team, the Commercial Manager, Benelux is responsible for driving commercial performance and accelerating growth across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. This role combines strategic sales leadership, business development, people management, and coaching responsibilities to ensure the successful execution of Laborie's commercial strategy.
The Commercial Manager leads and develops a multi-functional team, including Territory Managers and Field Service Engineers, while directly managing key customer relationships and identifying new growth opportunities across Laborie's Urology, Gastroenterology, and Maternal & Child Health portfolios.
This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strong customer engagement and up to 70% travel throughout the Benelux region.
About the role:
Commercial Leadership & Sales Management
- Develop and execute the commercial strategy for the Benelux region to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.
- Lead regional sales planning, forecasting, pipeline management, and business reviews.
- Drive sustainable growth through effective territory management, strategic account planning, and customer engagement.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
- Ensure achievement of regional sales targets and key performance indicators.
Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across hospitals, clinics, integrated delivery networks, and strategic partners.
- Expand Laborie's presence within existing accounts while pursuing new market opportunities.
- Lead complex negotiations, tender processes, and commercial agreements.
- Develop and execute market development initiatives in collaboration with Marketing and Clinical teams.
- Build strategic relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare decision-makers across the region.
Leadership, Coaching & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing regional team consisting of Territory Managers and Field Service Engineers.
- Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support employee development through regular coaching, field visits, performance feedback, and training initiatives.
- Equip the commercial team with the skills, tools, and knowledge required to succeed in a competitive healthcare environment.
- Partner with Human Resources to support talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, healthcare professionals, procurement stakeholders, and hospital leadership.
- Act as a senior commercial representative for Laborie within the Benelux market.
- Support customer retention, satisfaction, and long-term partnership development.
- Ensure a consistent and high-quality customer experience across all commercial interactions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Customer Service, Clinical Education, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, and Finance teams.
- Support successful product launches, customer education programs, and market access initiatives.
- Ensure accurate reporting and utilization of CRM systems and commercial analytics tools.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver regional revenue and growth objectives across the Benelux market.
- Build and develop a high-performing commercial organization.
- Lead, mentor, and support direct reports to maximize individual and team performance.
- Drive customer-focused strategies that strengthen Laborie's market position.
- Ensure effective collaboration across commercial and support functions.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline visibility, and business reporting.
- Promote Laborie's mission, values, and culture throughout the region.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in medical device, healthcare, life sciences, or related commercial environments.
- Proven success in sales leadership, business development, and account management roles.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching and developing sales professionals.
- Strong commercial, analytical, and strategic planning capabilities.
- Experience working with hospital systems and healthcare procurement processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Fluent in English and Dutch; French language skills are highly desirable.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Benelux region (up to 70%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within Urology, Gastroenterology, Women's Health, Maternal & Child Health, or related medical specialties.
- Experience managing geographically dispersed teams.
- Knowledge of the healthcare systems and reimbursement landscapes within Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and market development initiatives.
