Position Overview:
KORE Power, Inc. is seeking a Simulation Engineer to own all aspects of product design simulation within KORE’s existing products and new product development programs. This role is expected to have a large degree of autonomy and will be required to plan work and meet schedules, providing frequent and effective communication to stakeholders. Working within a small team and a structured product development process, cross-functional collaboration will be critically important (and actively encouraged).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilizing programs such as MATLAB, Simulink, COMSOL to develop models of systems and sub-systems
- Integrate control systems as required for performance simulations
- Support the development of cross functional simulation Master Model framework and data management to integrate systems used in development simulations
- Integrate cross-functional dynamics models and act as a single point of contact for users inside and outside of team
- Continually improve fidelity of models
- Interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively crossâfunctionally and crossâculturally to grow relationships and partnerships
- Ability to communicate, empower and influence others to enable world class designs, packaging efficiency and product integration across Engineering and Development teams
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or bachelor's equivalency) in Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 7 years diversified engineering experience with similar products to KORE
- 5 years of engineering simulation (e.g. Simulink, Comsol, Spice, CFD, FEA)
- Successfully completed all phases of a Product Launch
- Demonstrated ability to make product decisions in a timely manner to meet customer (internal and external) key milestone events and work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Must be able to read, create, and comprehend engineering drawings and specifications
- Demonstrated strong communication skills: able to communicate (written and verbal) clearly and succinctly in a variety of settings and styles and demonstrated ability to influence the product design.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully complete multiple tasks within established and changing deadlines
- Demonstrated successful performance with independent problem solving and presentations
- Proficient knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, and database applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with vehicle dynamics
- Experience in Lithium-ion product safety design
- Experience with simulation or approximation of electrochemical systems
- Functional and HMI safety
- Previous experience in a technical leadership or team management role.
- System analysis tools such as Fault Tree, FMEA, FMEDA, Hazop
- Proficiency in Mandarin a plus
