Assistant Regional Controller
Purpose and Scope/General Summary: This is a challenging, new plant opportunity, that requires good communication and time management skills. This position will be located in Iowa and be responsible for locations in Ankeny and Perry, IA. Candidates must have experience managing people. A hands-on approach and problem-solving mindset are strongly preferred. The Assistant Controller will report to the Regional Controller and have at least one direct report at multiple locations.
Responsibilities:
- Help set up multiple new plants, establishing accounting procedures
- Manage all accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings in accordance with US GAAP
- Prepare and analyze profit and loss (P&L) statements
- Explain variances to budget and prior year figures, identifying and addressing gaps
- Create analyses and scenarios to support business decisions
- Streamline, automate, and implement controls for processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy
- Track and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels
- Consistently deliver timely and accurate management reports and information as needed
- Serve as a skilled backup for the Controller
- Assist the Controller with annual budget preparation
- Maintain and audit SOX controls to ensure compliance
- Assist with material costing calculations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equal experience in Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial statement structure, and general ledger accounts
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision
- Advanced Excel skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of SAP preferred
- Experience in a fast-paced environment requiring strong time-management skills and the ability to multitask.
- Well-organized, goal-oriented, self-motivated, independent worker, detail-oriented, and quick to learn new processes
- Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
- As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
- Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
- Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
- 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
- Base salary range of $85,000-$100,000;
- Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
