Position Summary: In two - four sentences, what are the end results or purpose of this job?
This position reports to the Occupational Health Manager and assists by providing appropriate, compassionate, quality care to Partners for both occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries and documenting all care provided in a professional and effective manner via company and state protocols. This position is Primarily Evening Shift with Primary hours being 4pm to 1230am.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: List from most important to least important
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Primary duty is to provide routine and emergency medical care to partners at the workplace according to WV Scope of Practice.
Adheres to health management protocols, medical directives, policies and procedures, and physician standing orders according to WV scope of practice while following guidelines indicated by Occupational Health Manual.
Conducts tasks in a professional and effective manner and within legal, ethical, and moral standards of care.
Adheres to HIPAA compliance of confidentiality of Partner's personal health information
Establishes and maintains good working relationships with employees
Adheres to all state and federal regulations including OSHA, Worker's Compensation, etc.
Works closely with TPA and area medical community in dealing with WV Workers Compensation claims
Reports all Lost Time and Recordable injuries to Safety Manager and OHM
Knows location of medical equipment and manuals and will perform checks and calibrations of equipment as scheduled
Must obtain certification in urine drug screen and breath alcohol collections.
Performs Pre-Employment, Reasonable Suspicion & DOT and Non- DOT drug and alcohol testing using appropriate forms
Performs Post Offer medical assessments with use of supporting forms
Accesses Internet & use of PPC programs Share point & Risk Partner
Participates in health and safety teaching of annual Blood borne Pathogen training and monthly inservices and training as required by OHM & PPC
Notifies Occupational Health Manager of any pertinent physical and emotional changes of symptoms presented by Partners
Keeps department clean and orderly.
Puts away med supply orders and re-stock supplies as needed
Supervisory Elements: Quantify and describe briefly (direct, hire, terminate, appraise, recommend, etc)
There are no supervisory duties associated with this job.
Decision Making Authority: Describe with examples and estimate of frequency
Partners must continually make the decision to follow instructions of the Occupational Health Manager and Safety Manager to perform all job assignments within designated guidelines.
The person performing this task provides medical/first aid care within WV Scope of Practice

Internal: Partners must be able to work in a cooperative manner all employees, physicians, Ambulance Personnel, Third Party Administrators, Corporate Health and Safety Personnel..
External: Third Party Administrators, Physicians, and must maintain strict confidence concerning all job activity.

Responsibility for Confidential Information: Must keep all health information confidential in accordance with Company Policy and HIPPA Guidelines
Education Must maintain current WV Practical Nurse License
Technical Skills: Must possess the ability to read and understand protocol of the Occupational Health and Safety function. Must be efficient in the use of medical equipment, manuals, and calibration of equipment as needed. Must be certified and efficient in the performing urine drug screenings and breath alcohol collections. Must have computer skills including spreadsheets, word processing, Sharepoint, PPC programs and Internet. Must understand WV Worker’s Compensation requirements. Must understand OSHA requirements including, but not limited to Blood Borne Pathogens, Ergonomics, types of injuries, etc.
Language Skills: Must possess the ability to communicate respectfully with all partners, members of the medical community and all health organizations..
Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide as needed.
