Marketing Strategist Overview:

As a Marketing Strategist, you will collaborate with other team members to create an initial marketing strategy for our prospective clients. You will accomplish this through the analysis of the client’s current marketing, consumer, competitor, and industry research. You will then leverage this data to identify areas of improvement and generate a marketing strategy that drives meaningful change towards the client’s business goals and present your findings to the client.

A successful Marketing Strategist has excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, research and communication skills that allow them to quickly and accurately understand a client’s systems and situations, identify gaps in their marketing and provide solutions to achieve their business goals.  
A successful Marketing Strategist also has a strong understanding of all things marketing including but not limited to digital media best practices, brand strategy and brand awareness best practices, content best practices, data analytics etc.. 

Responsibilities
  • Understand objectives and needs of the client in discovery sessions with key stakeholders
  • Spearhead the development of marketing strategies that use data to solve problems and progress clients towards their goals
  • Work with subject matter experts to ensure data is being used to accurately represent reality and effectively inform strategy
  • Collaborate with Business Development Specialists (Sales) to ensure strategies are fully aligned and communicated with each client’s needs in mind
  • Liaise with department directors to ensure strategic alignment across channels, tactics, activations, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to create a Scope of Work that aligns with your data-informed recommendations
  • Present finding to key stakeholders in our clients’ businesses

Things We Are Looking For:

  • Proven work experience (minimum 2 years) as a strategist working in the realm of marketing
  • Strong understanding of, and demonstrable experience with, branding, content marketing, social media marketing, paid digital marketing, email marketing and digital marketing in general including SEO
  • Analytical, creative, and critical thinker who knows how to accurately interpret data to identify and understand problems and enjoys thinking creatively to develop solutions
  • Advanced communication skills, speaking, writing, and presenting
  • Inquisitive, persistent, courageous, and authentic with ability to challenge data, assumptions and points of view while maintaining respect for the individual
  • Familiarity with standard digital marketing platforms and associated data points and their meanings
  • Experience with SEO tools like SEMrush
  • Confident using Google Analytics to identify problems and drive meaning
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Great leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite including PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel
