Impact Networking

Impact is looking to add a BDR Engineer to our growing Managed IT Operations team. The role will be responsible for maintaining, implementing and managing backups. Additional value if experienced with Datto, Veeam, Azure Backups or other similar backup solutions. Setting up backups for new client environments from start to finish and supporting Field Network Engineers with roll out and management of backup devices. In addition, the BDR Engineer will be responsible for designing maintenance plans and maintaining backups for on-premise and cloud backups. Learning new technologies is a major driver of success within this position. 

Responsibilities

Technical

  • Deploy backup solutions for new client environments utilizing baseline standard with technologies including Datto, Backupify, Veeam, Azure Backup.
  • Monitor and respond to backup errors, remediate problems before affecting our 72-hour without a cloud backup policy.
  • Perform backup restores including cloud disaster recovery spin up, complete server restore, database restore and restores of files.
  • Assist Field Network Engineers with supporting backups or resolving tickets escalation tickets related to backups.
  • Know your way around Event Viewer on a Windows Server. How to pull logs, Check Error codes etc.
  • Always look for ways to automate and make process more efficient with the use of scripts.
  • Maintain documentation for all backup related processes, policies, and procedures.

General

  • Tracks and reports on backup-related ticket activity to ensure consistent and accurate ticket entry.
  • Review and maintain the Managed Information Technology (MIT) service delivery processes
  • Participates in ongoing training and attainment of manufacturer certifications.
  • Maintains relationships with vendor contacts that are beneficial to the company.
  • Keeps all documentation in the centrally located team customer documentation location so nothing is kept secretive.

Things We Are Looking For

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology, related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
Computer Skills
  • Windows Desktop
    • Windows 7, 10
  • Server Administration
    • Experience with Windows 2012-2019 Server
    • Active Directory design, management and maintenance
    • DNS, DHCP, and Remote Desktop
    • VMWare, Hyper-V and other virtualization technologies
    • Storage solutions: SAN, NAS, Shared storage, ISCSI, Fiber Channel
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year working with Windows Workstations and Servers
Valued Qualifications (not required)
  • Datto, Veeam or other relevant Industry Certifications
  • Recent experience as part of a Microsoft Partner organization
  • Recent experience working for a managed services organization
