Impact is hiring a Project Engineer for our Nationally ranked Best and Brightest Workplace!

The Project Engineer maintains project timelines and improves client computing experience through effective execution of technical project work. The Project Engineer further develops our company’s positive reputation with existing clients through exceptional service. The role of the Project Engineer is challenging and rewarding, requiring a strong and vast technical skill set, along with interpersonal skills. The position will require a number of different skills, beyond what is stated here. The focus of the job at Impact is always Excellent Customer Service.

Responsibilities

Technical
  • Participate in the installation and configuration of client projects. This requires, but is not limited to, the technical skills to implement the following core technologies: Windows Server, Hyper-V or VMWare, Exchange, Firewalls, Switching, Active Directory, Group Policy configuration, Office 365 and Azure.
  • Ensure project technical components are executed to Impact standards and necessary client configuration.
  • Capture and/or update documentation on client environments post project.
  • Identifies user problems and works within a structured problem management and resolution process to remediate them within established SLAs.
  • Collaborates with other resources and vendors to ensure successful project deliverables.
  • Utilizes Impact improved technologies to deliver project services.
  • On time documentation of issues within Impact’s Ticket System.
General
  • Participates in ongoing training and attainment of manufacturer certifications.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with customers that further develop our company’s positive reputation through exceptional customer service.
  • Maintains relationships with vendor contacts that are beneficial to the company.
  • Follows a set of standards for documentation customer network status and activities. Keeps all documentation in the centrally located team customer documentation location so nothing is kept secretive.
Professional Development
  • Develop personal skills to efficiently and effectively work individually and as a member of the Technical Services team
  • Participate in company-sponsored job-related activities and training to further develop your technical skills
Things We Are Looking For

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology, related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
Computer Skills
  • Server Administration Expertise
    • Windows 2012-2019 Server
    • Active Directory design, management, and maintenance
    • Microsoft Exchange, SQL
    • DNS, DHCP, and Remote Desktop Services
    • VMWare, Hyper-V and other virtualization technologies
    • Storage solutions: SAN, NAS, Shared storage, ISCSI, Fiber Channel
  • Firewalls, switches and other networking technologies
    • Cisco Meraki, HP, and other technologies
    • Disaster Recovery solutions and backup technologies
    • Office365, Azure and other "cloud" solutions
  • Excellent knowledge of our supported software and technologies
  • Tier 3 Advanced Support Skills
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • System, Network, or Security Certifications
Other Skills & Abilities
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must be prepared to travel as required
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Network or Systems engineer, or less with Master’s degree
Valued Qualifications (not required)
  • 7 or more years relevant work experience
  • Relevant and current industry certifications
  • Recent experience as part of a Microsoft Partner organization
  • Recent experience working for a managed services organization
