Impact is hiring a Network Engineer for our Nationally ranked Best and Brightest Workplace!

We are seeking customer service focused individuals with a wide knowledge of computers and networks to provide quick and accurate support to all Impact employees.  This position will also be actively involved within new office buildouts through installation, configuration, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance.  The environment utilizes switches, firewalls, Wireless Access Points from Meraki, and VMWare in primarily a Microsoft environment.  

Responsibilities

  • Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
  • Establishes network performance by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, good put, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
  • Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
  • Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation, maintaining documentation.
  • Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs, providing references and support.
  • Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
  • Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets, monitoring expenses.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. 
  • Follows standard operating procedures for buildouts and maintenance of the networks.
Things We Are Looking For
  • 3+ years work experience as Network Engineer, Network Administrator, Systems Administrator
  • Experience with Meraki Firewalls, switches, and Access points
  • Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
  • Proven experience with configuring VLANS in an enterprise environment
  • Ability to set up and configure server hardware
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
  • Great at organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking
  • Cisco, Meraki, Microsoft, or HP Certifications
