Impact is hiring an Internal IT Infrastructure Lead for our Nationally ranked Best and Brightest Workplace!

The IT Infrastructure Lead leads a team of skilled Internal IT Systems Engineers and IT Network Engineers whose goal is to provide the highest level of planned project support while maintaining consistent quality of advanced technical solutions. The role requires a customer service focused individual with a vast knowledge of servers and networks to provide systematic improvements to the internal environment with a primary focus on customer service. The IT Infrastructure Lead is responsible for providing high-quality computer, network, and server infrastructure technologies across the organization. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff and the company for rapid future growth.

The IT Infrastructure Lead is a self-motivated individual with 7+ years’ experience in IT engineering and operations. A successful candidate for this role will be extremely organized and be able to manage multiple projects that involve planning alongside other departments of the organization. This role requires the technical skills to oversee and implement the core networking, systems, and database technologies. These include Windows Server, VMWare, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Firewalls, BDR Solutions, Switching, Active Directory and Group Policy configuration, SQL database management, Cloud Services such as Office 365 and Azure and many others.

The IT Infrastructure Lead will be responsible for driving the professional development of the Internal IT staff, including mentorship, training, and performance evaluation. The position requires the ability to manage multiple team members in their support of different clients, systems, and projects. The right person will be adept at working with peers to define new processes and policies with outstanding leadership and mentoring abilities. Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out various technologies across multiple infrastructures is a must.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure / Systems Management
  • Develop and maintain roadmap and refresh planning for all infrastructure systems.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies to understand technical advantages and cost differentiators for replacement analysis.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures within standard document repository.
  • Contribute to and maintain system standards in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Continually configure and modify the remote monitoring software for ideal alerting for failures and warnings to decrease company downtime.
  • Provide periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly reports to the CIO about the network health and performance, end user tickets and all client communications
Leadership
  • Hire, train, and mentor a team of IT systems engineers, network engineers, database administrators to work as members of the IT department
  • Provide strong leadership to and collaborate with the Internal IT service desk and systems staff including meeting regularly to review progress of work, resolution of problems, and ensure that standards for quality and quantity of work are met.
  • Assess skill sets and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members to meet objectives, reinforce sales methodology and provide guidance on career path direction. Implement personal development plans for individual team members.
  • Perform capacity and resource planning to be able to outline the next week, month, and quarter of activity and projects in the pipeline

Things We Are Looking For

Technical Skills
  • Proficient in IT systems terminology
  • Familiar with SNMP and other monitoring protocols
  • Working experience with Azure Active Directory in production environment
  • Three years’ experience with Azure Services
  • Clear understanding of Microsoft Product licensing models
  • Understanding of emerging business continuity practices
  • Skilled with PowerShell and other scripting methods
  • SQL Server Management experience
Valued Qualifications
  • Strong Project Management background
  • Previous history as part of a Microsoft Partner organization
  • Experience working for a Managed Services organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work.
  • Ability to explain technical problems and offer solutions to those without technological training.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to link high-level strategy to day-to-day project manage
Certifications
  • Required (one of):
    • Microsoft MSCA
    • CCNA or equivalent networking certification
  • Preferred:
    • PMP Certification
    • Microsoft MCSE in related Microsoft Server or Database path
    • Meraki experience
