Mac Systems Engineer
Description
Impact is looking to add a Mac Systems Engineer to our growing Managed IT Operations team.
The Mac Systems Engineer will support the Operations team in all technology related activities including further developing our company’s positive reputation through exceptional service. The role of the Mac Systems Engineer is challenging, rewarding and requires a strong and vast technical skill set along with business acumen and interpersonal skills. This role will be responsible for providing assistance related to the maintenance, implementation, operation and security of all MIT solutions in a support capacity and in coordination with other Operations Engineers, with an emphasis on Apple Mac-based solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect technological solutions for Apple Mac-based environments
- Serve as the primary escalation point for all Mac/iOS-related technical support needs.
- Write, prepare and coordinate escalation procedures with appropriate management and personnel to scale support and ensure a positive client experience.
- Help train and assist team members with all Mac-based Operations procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and best practices.
- Test and deploy Mac OS / iOS updates
- Assist with new MIT client onboarding that will set the baseline for configuration policies and client experiences.
- Daily ticket & data documentation for all Operations requests, incidents and problems that are assigned.
- Help provide resolution of common technical support issues and provide feedback to engineers and service desk
- Resolve incidents and diagnose underlying problems using remote access capabilities and implement corrective actions to resolve problems.
- Ensure excellent customer service is timely and accurate on a daily basis.
- Follow up with internal and external customers to identify areas of improvement.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive operations and Apple Mac system administrator experience
- Proficiency in Apple first-party solutions in a business environment is a must: Mac OS, iOS, Apple Business Manager, Apple MDM, Mac Mail, iCloud.
- Experience with Microsoft app administration, support and configuration on Mac OS / iOS is a plus
- Addigy, JAMF or related RMM platform experience preferred
- JumpCloud or Azure Active Directory experience preferred
- Strong technical skills with Apple computing environments including, but not limited to, Activity Monitor interpretation, experience with shell script writing and systems administration via Terminal, knowledge of mobile configs and plists, experience with automation solutions (for example, Automator), baseline security configuration and app deployment via script MDM and RMM.
- Current Apple Certified Support Professional or other industry recognized advanced certifications preferred
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; both technical and non-technical
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex issues. Determine root cause of issues, communicate appropriately, and maintain proper documentation for future remediation.
- Experience with IT ticketing software, Knowledge base software and documentation platforms
- Strong work ethic with a focus on the Client Experience
