Solutions Engineering is dedicated to enabling the Gigamon field sales team to provide customers with advanced deep observability solutions across their hybrid cloud environments. We review customer environment, design, and validate Gigamon offerings inline with industry best practices and recommendations across their hybrid cloud environments. Assist customer objective to secure their operating environment and preserving the trust they have on our solutions and capabilities. 
 
Roles and responsibilities:
We're looking for a highly skilled Network and Infrastructure Automation Engineer who combines deep networking expertise with automation proficiency. The successful candidate will design, implement, and maintain automated solutions for our network infrastructure, focusing on efficiency, scalability, and reliability. This role requires strong technical expertise in networking protocols and automation frameworks, with the ability to bridge traditional infrastructure with modern automation solutions spanning conventional datacentres and Cloud IaaS platforms.
  • Automation Solution Design & Implementation
    • Design and develop comprehensive automation solutions for network infrastructure
    • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) frameworks for consistent deployments
    • Develop automated workflows for network device configurations
    • Create reusable automation modules and templates
  • Network Automation Development
    • Automate network device provisioning and configuration management
    • Develop scripts for routine network maintenance tasks
    • Implement automated compliance checking and remediation
    • Create automated backup and recovery solutions for network configurations
  • Infrastructure Orchestration
    • Design and implement automated deployment pipelines
    • Develop infrastructure provisioning workflows
    • Create automated scaling solutions for infrastructure resources
    • Implement continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) for infrastructure changes
  • Quality Assurance & Testing
    • Develop automated testing frameworks for network changes
    • Implement quality gates for automation deployments
    • Create automated validation scripts for infrastructure compliance
    • Design disaster recovery automation scenarios
  • Documentation & Knowledge Management
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of automation solutions
    • Create technical guides for automation usage
    • Develop training materials for junior engineers
    • Contribute to knowledge base articles and best practices
    • Collaborate closely with Gigamon Sales Engineers, partners and engineering in strategic proof-of-concepts and other major customer deployments.
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Network Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in networking and automation
  • Strong background in networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.)
  • Experience with automation frameworks (Ansible, Terraform, Salt Stack)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Deep understanding of network architectures and protocols
  • Strong programming fundamentals
  • Experience with version control systems (Git)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and practices
  • Understanding of security best practices in automation
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Nice to Have:
    • Certifications in networking (CCNA/CCNP) or automation (Ansible/Terraform)
    • Experience with agile development methodologies
    • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks
    • Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
    • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
