Manager - Solutions Engineering - India - Hybrid
Description
Solutions Engineering is dedicated to enabling the field sales team to provide customers with advanced deep observability solutions across their hybrid cloud environments. We review customer environment, design, and validate Gigamon offerings inline with industry best practices and recommendations across their hybrid cloud environments. Assist customer objective to secure their operating environment and preserving the trust they have on our solutions and capabilities.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Lead a team of subject matter experts on Gigamon and partner devices and tools such switches, routers, Firewalls, Proxies, Load balancer, SSL offloading, SIEM, network and application monitoring and many more.
- The team is well aligned with organizational goals and effectively engage with the sales engineering organization to drive the adoption of our strategic solutions.
- Adopt strategies like “Infra as a code”, Containerisation of apps, critical and creative thinking to solve many interesting problems for both customers and Gigamon Sales.
- Guide team members to translate complex customer requirements into technically viable solutions as well as design/build partner integration software.
- Closely collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (R&D, product management, technical marketing, sales engineers, and partner alliances team) to identify business problems to simulate in lab for demos.
- As a key member of the management staff, the candidate will communicate the vision and strategy of the organization to his/her team and inspire team members to perform at their best.
- Be a player-coach: willingness to be hands-on when required
- Mentor/coach/teach/facilitate and lead in a highly technical/dynamic team.
- Drive multi-geo teams by working effectively with cross functional teams fostering and upholding the “ONE Gigamon” spirit.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of industry experience with at least 3 years of people management experience leading network and security operations and delivery.
- The ideal candidate will have strong technical experience in designing, installing and managing datacentres and cloud environments in their previous role.
- Ability to undertake goals and organize, delegate, and effectively deliver solutions to solve complex problems.
- This experience would be leveraged in setting up lab environment in India centre covering technologies such as and not limiting to switches, routers, terminal console, Firewalls, Proxies, Load balancer, SSL offloading, SIEM, network monitoring, Wireshark and proficient with PCAP analysis.
- Knowledge and experience in administering public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI ..etc) and private could (VMware vSphere, VMware NSX, Openstack, Kubernetes, Nutanix).
- Ability to identify scope for optimization and adopting automation/orchestration utilities like python, terraform, ansible, cloud formation.
- Understanding and working knowledge of network protocols like ARP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, RADIUS, TACACS, GRE, VXLAN, VLAN, IAM and Access federation, SSO etc
- Ability to design and install a network/security lab in capacity of an experience centre incorporating the best practices to use this facility as a reference architecture with integration of Gigamon solutions.
- This experience Centre/Lab is used alike by Internal stakeholders like Sales to showcase Gigamon solutions through demos, POC and external stakeholders like partners and customers to provide them with hands-on training and familiarity with the Gigamon solutions.
- The lab would be an enterprise grade datacentre spanning a technologies physical datacentre, OT/IOT environments with tools used by enterprises in their security and network operations extending into public and private cloud as well.
- Ability to undertake loosely defined goals and organize, delegate, and effectively deliver solutions to solve complex problems.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment, with a drive for results.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, listening, and written communication skills, both within the team and across the organization.
- Conflict resolution skills including the ability to bridge style differences.
- Deep understanding of network architectures and protocols
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and Nice to have – Quali CloudShell Infrastructure Automation experience
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and practices
