We are hiring a permanent Manager, Project Engineering position working out of Phoenix, AZ.
EPCOR Water (USA) Inc. provides safe, reliable, and high-quality water and wastewater services. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, we are the largest private, regulated water utility in Arizona and New Mexico, serving approximately 350,000 customers. In this role, you will review and approve master water/wastewater plans and basis of design reports for new developments, significantly impacting infrastructure improvements necessary for providing services to residential and commercial developments.
What you’d be responsible for:
- Reviewing and approving civil/mechanical engineering plans for water/wastewater infrastructure
- Utilizing water modeling software and analyzing modeling output reports
- Interacting with Operations staff to understand the functionality of various water/wastewater systems
- Drafting, reviewing, and administering development agreements, tariffs, and administrative rules and regulations
- Preparing letters and submittal packages for regulatory agencies
- Providing exceptional customer service to the general public and company staff
- Managing the delivery of developer-funded water/wastewater projects, overseeing all aspects of engineering design, permitting, procurement, construction, and commissioning
- Managing engineering consultant and construction contracts, ensuring project budgets and schedules are met
- Interacting with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits, certifications, and approvals
- Serving as a technical advisor to Operations staff
What’s required to be successful:
- A 4-year degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related technical degree
- 6-10 years of engineering experience with a general knowledge of engineering, land development, project management, and construction/operation of water/wastewater facilities and infrastructure
- Solid understanding of current trends and technology for water/wastewater conveyance and treatment systems
- Basic understanding of water/wastewater utility operations and private water utility economics
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona
- Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) operator certification is a plus
- General understanding of industry safety regulations and federal, state, and county water quality and design regulations and technical standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
