Highlights of the Role
As Manager of Procurement, you’ll play a strategic role in driving procurement excellence across EPCOR’s U.S. business units. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain, you’ll lead a team responsible for purchasing, contract performance, spend management, and strategic sourcing. Your work ensures operational needs are met, governance and risk management are upheld, and best practices are applied to deliver measurable value.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Partner with the Senior Manager, Supply Chain to shape plans and directions, and develop and implement deliverables aligned with the business plan
- Align and integrate team deliverables with clear performance metrics, while building and leading a high-performing team through effective recruitment, retention, and development
- Identify and manage budget requirements for procurement services, and monitor spending trends to ensure optimal purchasing methods and compliance
- Achieve results against established performance metrics, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Provide clear, concise, and actionable reporting to support informed decision-making
- Develop and review procurement processes, serving as a subject matter expert on best practices to ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Administer contracts and purchase agreements, leveraging advanced sourcing techniques, analytics, and negotiation strategies to maximize value and mitigate risk
- Approve expenditures, training, and procurement processes within established limits and organizational guidelines
- Support other projects and responsibilities as requested by leadership
What’s Required to Be Successful
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience
- Supply Chain Management designation considered an asset
- 5+ years of leadership experience with proven performance management expertise
- 5+ years in supply chain, including procurement, contract management, and negotiations with demonstrated value-add results
- Experience in a regulated business environment preferred
- Strong understanding of supply chain best practices, controls, and risk management
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing and contract structures, including legal language and risk mitigation, Skilled in supplier negotiations and contract management
- Ability to lead change, delegate effectively, coach for success, and hold teams accountable
- Strong problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization
- Technical proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel for data analysis), SharePoint administration (preferred), and Oracle Purchasing and Business Intelligence (preferred)
- High-level understanding of legal issues related to contracting
