Highlights of the role
EPCOR is hiring an Engineering Intern to support our Engineering team at the Blue Sky Water Reclamation Facility in Taylor, Texas, and/or our office location in Round Rock, Texas. This full‑time, paid summer internship offers hands‑on exposure to engineering activities within a water and wastewater utility environment.
As an Engineering Intern, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and operations teams to support design reviews, field activities, and operational analysis across treatment facilities and project sites, including Blue Sky, Sandow, and other locations. This opportunity provides valuable insight into how engineering supports safe, reliable utility operations while building foundational technical and professional skills.
Internship Dates: June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026
What you’ll be responsible for
- Assist with reviewing engineering design drawings and technical documents
- Support field sampling activities under the guidance of engineering or operations staff
- Assist with reviewing and organizing operational and process trend data
- Participate in field walks of treatment facilities to observe equipment and processes
- Assist with equipment inspections and documenting observations in the field
- Document assigned tasks and follow up on action items under supervision
- Participate in design reviews and engineering team discussions
- Support operations and project planning activities as directed
- Collaborate with engineering and operations team members on assigned projects
- Follow all safety procedures and adhere to EPCOR’s safety standards, including wearing required PPE
- Support other projects and responsibilities as requested
What’s required to be successful
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering program
- Interest in utilities, water and wastewater treatment, infrastructure, or related fields
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to analyze information, document findings, and communicate clearly in a professional environment
- Willingness to ask questions, learn from mentors, and take initiative on assigned tasks
- Comfort working in an active operating water and wastewater treatment environment
