POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Intelligence Analyst builds and maintains dashboards and reports that help EO leaders and teams understand performance and take action. EO is a global organization. Audiences range from the Global Board to regional staff and volunteer chapter officers, with different experience using data. Clear, accurate reporting is essential so insights are used, not ignored.

You will develop executive dashboards, operational reports, and self-service views where appropriate. You will also support teams across EO (chapter operations, member engagement, growth, product teams, and others) that maintain their own dashboards and reports in BI tools, spreadsheets, or custom applications. You help them use consistent, approved data sources when possible so metrics are not rebuilt differently in every tool. You help document major reporting in use: what exists, who maintains it, and what data it relies on. You are not expected to own every team-built report or every technical integration.

You will work closely with other analysts and with EO’s technology team to ensure reporting is accurate and sustainable. When AI features are available in the BI platform, you will use them with the same standards for accuracy and review as manually built reports. Additional priorities such as expanded self-service or broader regional support will depend on business needs and team capacity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Central Dashboard and report development

  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and operational reports on EO’s BI platform.
  • Present data clearly for varied audiences, from executives to regional and chapter-facing staff.
  • Apply consistent visual standards and report structures for enterprise reporting.
  • Support recurring reporting cycles (monthly, quarterly, annual) in line with leadership priorities and standard business definitions.
  • Gather requirements and feedback from stakeholders and refine reporting over time.

Support for decentralized reporting

  • Work with chapter operations, member engagement, product teams, and other groups on dashboards and reports they maintain outside central BI.
  • Help teams connect local reporting to core or approved data sources and templates when available.
  • Identify when a team-owned report should be checked against standard definitions and involve analytics or technology colleagues as needed.
  • Direct teams to standard enterprise or shared reports when those meet the business need, to limit unnecessary duplication.
  • Contribute reporting and data-display requirements when teams evaluate or change tools or workflows.

Reporting inventory and documentation

  • Maintain an inventory of significant reporting assets: purpose, owner, audience, primary data sources, tool or location, and refresh frequency. Update when major reports are launched or retired.
  • Document sources, report logic, and known limitations for official reporting and for supported team-owned reports.
  • Use SQL and BI platform features to prepare data for dashboards and reports.

Validation and quality in the reporting layer

  • Validate reports against agreed sources and definitions before publication to broad audiences.
  • Partner with analytics and technology colleagues on issues that originate in source systems, pipelines, joins, or calculation logic.
  • Implement checks within the BI environment where appropriate to detect stale data, broken refreshes, or obvious anomalies.

Training and stakeholder support

  • Respond to dashboard and reporting requests in line with team prioritization practices.
  • Develop training materials, quick-reference guides, and walkthroughs to support independent use of reporting.
  • Advise stakeholders on appropriate chart types and common misinterpretations so reports are read correctly.

AI-assisted BI (as prioritized)

  • Use AI capabilities within the BI platform when they improve efficiency, subject to review standards.
  • Ensure AI-assisted content is reviewed before distribution to leadership or wide internal audiences.
  • Provide input on appropriate use of automation versus required human review.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • 2–5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related role with demonstrated dashboard and report delivery.
  • Proficiency in at least one major BI platform (Domo, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or equivalent), including data connections and calculated logic.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and report development.
  • Experience designing reports for multiple audience types (executive, operational, and self-service).
  • Ability to gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders and deliver usable reporting solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail in validation, documentation, and publication standards.
  • Experience in nonprofit, membership, or association environments.
  • Experience supporting both centralized BI and team-managed reporting (including spreadsheets or custom tools).
  • Experience helping business users adopt shared templates or data connections.
  • Familiarity with AI features in BI tools and structured review before publication.
  • Background in user experience or information design.
  • Experience with multi-region or global reporting.
  • Exposure to chapter operations, member engagement, or product reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in analytics, information systems, design, or a related field.
