SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range for this role is $129,700 to $160,500 annually. This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.
SUMMARY
Redwire is seeking a Manager, Supply Chain to lead day-to-day supply chain operations at the Huntsville, AL site, including procurement, materials management, supplier management, and logistics, in support of defense and aerospace programs. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Supply Chain, this role manages and develops the site procurement team while ensuring all purchasing activity complies with the FAR, DFARS, and company procurement procedures, and supports the company’s path to an approved purchasing system (CPSR). The position pairs strong procurement and negotiation expertise with hands-on leadership of buyers and day-to-day execution against program need dates, ensuring compliant, on-time material availability that supports program execution, customer satisfaction, and the company’s growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
- Manage day-to-day site supply chain operations, including procurement, materials management, logistics, and supplier management.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the site procurement team, setting clear priorities, balancing workload against program need dates, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Execute supply chain strategies, policies, and procedures established at the global level, and contribute to their continued development and improvement.
- Ensure all procurement activity complies with the FAR and DFARS, contract-specific flowdown requirements, and company procurement procedures.
- Maintain complete, audit-ready procurement files, including evidence of competition, price and cost analysis, and single/sole-source justifications, in support of Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) readiness and government audits (e.g., DCMA).
- Perform and review price and cost analysis on procurement actions of varying complexity, applying a strong understanding of FAR procurement processes and procedures.
- Flow down applicable terms and conditions and FAR and DFARS clauses to suppliers through purchase orders and agreements, and manage supplier acknowledgment of those requirements.
- Support compliance with counterfeit and EEE parts avoidance requirements (DFARS 252.246-7007/-7008), the Berry Amendment, specialty metals restrictions (DFARS 252.225-7009), and other domestic sourcing requirements.
- Lead supplier negotiations for pricing, terms, and long-term agreements to drive cost savings, cost avoidance, and lead-time reduction.
- Manage supplier performance across on-time delivery, quality, and cost metrics; lead supplier corrective actions and recovery plans when performance falls short of program requirements.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including single/sole-source dependency, obsolescence, long-lead material drivers, and foreign sourcing exposure.
- Support supplier onboarding, qualification, and periodic supplier reviews in accordance with company procedures.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, program management, and finance to align supply chain execution with program schedules and business objectives.
- Support the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain performance, including supplier performance, on-time delivery, inventory turns, and cost efficiency.
- Support demand planning, ERP (Odoo) data integrity, and process improvement and automation initiatives that enhance supply chain visibility, efficiency, and agility.
- Stay current on regulatory changes, market trends, and best practices in defense procurement and supply chain management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following are non-exhaustive qualifications for the position:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications (CFCM/CPCM, CPSM, CSCP, APICS) are desirable.
- 7+ years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience in the aerospace and defense industry, including direct experience purchasing in support of U.S. Government prime contracts.
- Working knowledge of the FAR and DFARS, including flowdown requirements, with a demonstrated record of placing compliant procurements across a range of complexity and dollar values.
- Experience performing price and cost analysis, documenting source justifications, and building compliant procurement files; experience with procurement actions above the TINA threshold is preferred.
- Familiarity with CPSR requirements or experience supporting purchasing system reviews and government audits is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, which may include supervising buyers, mentoring and supporting peers, leading supplier and program meetings, or driving cross-functional initiatives. Prior direct supervisory experience is a plus but not required; this role is well suited to a senior procurement professional ready to step into people leadership.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, with a track record of delivering cost savings and managing complex, high-value supplier relationships.
- Experience administering subcontracts or supplier agreements supporting multiple concurrent programs.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Odoo, SAP, or Oracle) and procurement data analysis, using data-driven insights to support decision-making and process improvement.
- Familiarity with ITAR and EAR requirements and experience operating in an export-controlled procurement environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet program need dates.
- Experience with UAS/UAV products, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma principles is desirable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
