Dynacare is currently looking for a Maintenance Coordinator to join our team in London, Ontario. This is a 2 years fulltime contract position working Monday -Friday, shift 8:30am – 4:30PM. (shift change and weekends work -may be subject to change to meet the operational needs of the department).
The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for daily, weekly and monthly maintenance activities in the main laboratory and patient service stations. He/she will also coordinate the activities of all external service providers and vendors. Responsible for all associated documentation including work orders, packing slips and shipping records. The coordinator handles equipment management for Patient Services including service reports. Serve as a relief for Manager, Facilities and is responsible for all maintenance and repair functions in his/her absence. Will be required to be on call.
- Perform routine maintenance and handyman duties in main laboratory and stations including minor plumbing and electrical work if required
- Receive and respond to maintenance request from departments and stations in a timely manner
- Arrange external vendors e.g. HVAC, electrical, security, plumbing etc., check work to ensure proper completion and sign off work orders
- Coordinate the work activities of the Maintenance Assistant
- Ensure that the main laboratory premises are kept clean and safe by supervising and monitoring the activities of the contract day time cleaner to ensure that the schedule is followed
- Responsible for contacting the Cleaning Service Vendor when there are issues
- Weekly inspection sheet completion
- Monthly check of freezers and refrigerators if required, cleaning of walk in fridges and incubators
- Daily inspection of the laboratory premises
- Respond to requests from Patient Services, Physicians, Nursing Homes for replacement Centrifuges, ECG Machines, fax machines, PFT in times of equipment breakdown and failure
- Check and test the equipment before sending out where applicable
- Complete all shipping documents and tracking logs
- Arrange for repair, service and maintenance of all PSC equipment
- Update inventory record in Q Pulse
- Transport file/OHIP boxes to warehouse and/or offsite warehouse
- Retrieve slides, blocks and file boxes as required
- Responsible for the cleanliness and safe keeping of the offsite warehouse
- Maintain equipment and furniture
- Set up chairs, tables, overhead projectors, video screens and white boards as and when required
- Set up centrifuges, racks, furniture in new locations
- Daily, weekly and monthly checks of fire prevention and protection equipment as per code
- Responsible for monthly generator checks and coordinate maintenance
- Quarterly replacement of water filters as required
- Maintain log of maintenance and repair programs as required
- Snow and ice removal from drive and walkways as required
- Routine disinfecting of work area and equipment is to be completed on a scheduled basis
- Responsible to protect one’s Health and Safety by reporting hazards and working in compliance with established safe working practices
- Valid G Class Driver's License
- Secondary school education
- 2 years of previous related experience
- MS Office skills
