About the Role:
The Accounting Specialist will play a key role in managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting various accounting functions. This individual will contribute to critical financial processes, including reconciliations, expense management, and payroll assistance, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Process and review employee expense reports for accuracy, compliance, and timely reimbursement.
- Calculate and process commission payments in accordance with company policies.
- Reconcile company credit card transactions, investigate discrepancies, and ensure proper documentation.
- Manage and track fixed assets, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Assist with payroll functions, including state tax notices, medical and benefits calculations, new hire setup, and quarterly reconciliations.
- Support special projects, including process improvements and financial analysis.
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain financial records in compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Prepare and review financial reports, invoices, and statements for accuracy and completeness.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (preferred).
- 0-3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Intacct, NetSuite) (preferred).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong desire to grow professionally and advance within the company.
- Some travel may be required for team meetings.
