Job Title: Keyholder (seasonal)

Ministry/Department: Hope’s Closet - San Pablo

Reports to: Assistant Manager—Customer Experience

Status: Part-time, non-exempt

Supervisory Role: Serve staff

Objective

To provide excellent customer service while helping lead and execute daily operations during the holiday season to drive sales while keeping focus on The Church of Eleven22® and Hope’s Closet® vision of being a movement for all people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Key Responsibilities

• Minister of the gospel
• Pray with customers and serve staff
• Articulate personal testimony and the gospel with customers and serve staff
• Drive sales by executing daily operations (sales, cash office management, merchandising, replenishment, loss prevention, ensure safety) and providing excellent customer service to our customers and donors
• Operate Point of Sale (POS) systems and handling of money
• Perform opening and closing procedures of the store in times when a manager may not be present—cash office procedures and discrepancies, arming/disarming the store, incident reporting
• Assist in leading and working alongside of serve staff
• Assist in donation receiving and inventory sorting when needed
• Maintain organization of inventory and supplies on sales floor and cash wrap
• Help lead and create an inspiring team environment through setting and celebrating team goals, casting vision and demonstrating a proactive work culture

Education and Experience

• High school diploma preferred
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience, including retail or warehouse experience
• Experience operating cash registers and handling of money required

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time, non-exempt position which reports to the Assistant Manager – Customer Experience. Days may vary by week due to the needs of the store and other events. Weekend and holiday hours are a must.

The church has several big events, (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of The Church of Eleven22 and Hope’s Closet. We encourage staff to participate and serve at these events. The stores are closed during these events to ensure The Hope’s Closet team has the opportunity to participate in the spiritual formation of the church.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional retail and warehouse environment which includes both sales floor and warehouse/stockrooms. This position works mostly on the sales floor which uses equipment like cash registers, store phones, hand carts, dollies, ladders, rolling carts and rolling racks.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand or walk on concrete flooring for prolonged periods of time, bend, lift, grasp, reach, push and pull materials, walk on uneven surfaces, ladders and stairs and have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. May have to occasionally work outdoors where temperatures and climate can fluctuate.
