Description

The Global Product Manager, Molecular Panels leads global product strategy and innovation for molecular syndromic panels, ensuring customer needs and market insights are translated into differentiated, customer‑centric solutions. This highly cross‑functional role collaborates closely with R&D, Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Downstream Marketing, and regional teams to guide development, align on strategic priorities, and prepare the early phases of the go‑to‑market strategy. This role focuses on global upstream product marketing, drives and owns the opportunity business plan. A key contributor of expertise in clinical areas, product knowledge, and market understanding, this role provides cross‑functional leadership to drive portfolio growth, successful innovation, and strong on‑market product performance across laboratory and point‑of‑care settings.

 

Primary Duties

STRATEGIC PLANNING & PORTFOLIO LEADERSHIP: Lead global product strategy for assigned opportunities and/or molecular syndromic panels, Translate customer needs and market insights into product requirements, Identify opportunities for portfolio growth and differentiation across laboratory and point‑of‑care settings


PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT & LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT: Serve as business lead for early product development from concept to pre‑launch, Develop customer‑centric design inputs aligned with R&D priorities, Support lifecycle updates, enhancements, and performance improvements, Contribute to business case development and revenue forecasting with Finance and PMO


MARKET INSIGHTS & VOICE OF CUSTOMER: Gather and synthesize customer feedback, market trends, and clinical insights, Collaborate with Market Research, Medical Affairs, and Clinical Affairs to validate product requirements, Maintain strong understanding of molecular diagnostics landscape and competitive offerings


CROSS‑FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION: Partner with R&D, Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Downstream Marketing, and regional teams for strategic alignment, Provide product expertise to support cross‑functional decisions, Ensure integration of product strategy with broader franchise goals


GO‑TO‑MARKET READINESS: Lead early phases of the go‑to‑market strategy, Collaborate with Downstream Marketing and regional teams to ensure market readiness, Support regional teams in preparing for launch activities and strategic customer engagements


PERFORMANCE MONITORING & OPTIMIZATION: Monitor on‑market product performance and identify improvement opportunities, Support quality review requirements and resolution of product‑related issues


COMMERCIAL SUPPORT & ENABLEMENT: Provide product expertise for strategic customers and regional teams, Contribute to training, communications, and enablement materials to support adoption and sustained performance


Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


Required Education, Training and Experience

  • Bachelor degree required in Marketing, Business, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or a related life science or healthcare field.
  • 7+ years of professional related experience with degree in product management, marketing, or related roles within the diagnostics, life sciences, or medical device industry.

Preferred Education, Training and Experience

  • Masters degree preferred, either in Business Administration or in Biological Sciences (ie. microbiology, public health, epidemiology or related field)
  • Global or regional cross‑functional leadership experience, partnering with Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams.
  • Experience working across laboratory and/or point‑of‑care markets, understanding workflows, customer needs, and regulatory considerations.
  • Infectious disease and/or GI experience preferred
  • IVD and molecular NextGen sequencing experience strongly preferred

  • Track record of successful go‑to‑market planning or contribution to launch readiness in healthcare or diagnostics.
  • Demonstrated involvement in product development from concept through launch, including collaboration with R&D or cross‑functional development teams.


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Domestic travel required: 15%
International travel required: 15%

The estimated salary range for this role is between $120,000 - $177,000/year. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
