Ardelyx is a publicly traded commercial biopharmaceutical company founded with a mission to discover, develop and commercialize innovative first-in-class medicines that meet significant unmet medical needs. Ardelyx has two commercial products approved in the United States, IBSRELA® (tenapanor) and XPHOZAH® (tenapanor). Ardelyx has agreements for the development and commercialization of tenapanor outside of the U.S. Kyowa Kirin commercializes PHOZEVEL® (tenapanor) for hyperphosphatemia in Japan. A New Drug Application for tenapanor for hyperphosphatemia has been approved in China with Fosun Pharma. Knight Therapeutics commercializes IBSRELA in Canada.
Position Summary:
The Internal Communications & Digital Content Intern will support key initiatives that strengthen Ardelyx’s internal and digital communications, with a primary focus on enhancing the company intranet. This role will assist with managing the editorial calendar, drafting and publishing intranet content, and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization. The intern will also play an important role in developing an intranet‑based Learning Hub for employees. Additional responsibilities include supporting internal events, corporate giving activities – such as the company’s annual Giving Week – and contributing to digital and social content creation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Intranet content & calendar management
- Maintain the intranet content calendar, ensuring timely updates, tracking deliverables, and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Draft, edit, and publish intranet content including articles, posts, spotlights, updates, and cross‑functional announcements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to update content, gather new materials, and maintain consistent tone, branding, and structure across the platform.
- Learning Hub development & launch support
- Help build intranet-based Learning Hub, including both static educational content and concepts for live learning opportunities.
- Meet with subject‑matter experts to gather information and translate complex topics into clear, accessible materials.
- Shape the structure, layout, and user experience of the Learning Hub and work toward its go‑live plan (pages, launch content, supporting materials).
- Corporate Giving & Giving Week support
- Support the Corporate Giving Program and Giving Week planning by researching nonprofit partners and engagement opportunities.
- Draft internal communications, digital and print materials, and assist with early coordination and logistics for Giving Week.
- Digital and social content support
- Contribute to digital and social content development aligned with the Ardelyx brand voice.
- Conduct trend research to inform content ideas and ensure relevance across channels.
- Draft brand‑aligned copy and graphics to support broader corporate communications initiatives.

- Successful contribution to the launch and content build‑out of intranet-based Learning Hub, including static educational materials and live learning concepts.
- Strengthened intranet engagement through timely, high‑quality content and well‑coordinated updates across the platform.
- Improved readiness for Giving Week with foundational materials, plans, and content drafted in advance.
- Enhanced digital and internal communication assets that support consistent, engaging storytelling across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone and style to align with brand voice.
- Interest in internal communications, digital content, and corporate social responsibility.
- Strong organizational and project management skills; able to juggle multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
- Comfort collaborating with cross functional partners and interviewing subject matter experts.
- Excel; ability to present complex ideas in clear, structured formats.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, comfortable engaging with cross-functional stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with intranet platforms, content management systems, or basic web publishing is a plus.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content best practices.
- Basic design sensibility or experience with simple design tools (e.g., Canva, PowerPoint) helpful but not required.

The hourly rate for this Internship position is $25 per hour. Ardelyx utilizes industry data to ensure that our compensation is competitive and aligned with our industry peers.
