Ardelyx has two commercial products approved in the United States, IBSRELA® (tenapanor) and XPHOZAH® (tenapanor). A New Drug Application for tenapanor for hyperphosphatemia has been approved in China with Fosun Pharma. Knight Therapeutics commercializes IBSRELA in Canada.
 
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Development and Strategy, the Senior Corporate Development and Strategy Analyst plays a critical role to the strategic evolution of the company. This individual will work across all aspects of the deal process, including sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, and strategic projects as needs arise. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, analytical environment and brings strong financial acumen, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for biotechnology innovation.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of creating financial modeling and valuation analyses to support business development opportunities 
  • Work collaboratively cross-functionally to evaluate strategic business development opportunities, including acquisitions, licensing transactions, and collaborations
  • Support diligence processes by synthesizing financial, scientific, and market data into clear strategic insights
  • Prepare high quality presentation materials for senior leaders and key stakeholders as business development opportunities are advanced through the internal deal governance process 
  • Assist in sourcing and pipeline tracking of new business development opportunities 
  • Maintain tracking systems for active and historical deal processes 
  • Monitor competitive landscape, industry trends, and emerging therapeutic areas to inform strategic recommendations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of deal evaluation and governance processes 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field with 2+ years of transaction experience in corporate development, investment banking, consulting, strategic finance, or business development, preferably with life science or healthcare industry exposure, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in building complex financial models and valuation analyses with substantial experience in transaction comparables and risk adjusted discounted cash flows
  • Strong interests in biotechnology and pharmaceutical drug development
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with market intelligence and financial databases a plus
  • Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills; ability to develop rapport and credibility with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and insights clearly in effective, concise reports and presentations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
The anticipated annualized base pay range for this full-time position is $92,000 - $112,000. Ardelyx utilizes industry data to ensure that our compensation is competitive and aligned with our industry peers. Actual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target and equity awards, subject to eligibility and other requirements.
