Maintenance II - 3rd Shift

Description

Areas of Responsibility:

1. Safety:

  • Responsible for making sure that every employee on the shift is working to have an accident free environment.
  • Communicate to leadership any issues that arise through the functions of maintenance technician using the lock out tag out process as needed
  • Make use of all PPE, and insures compliance with all safety rules and Regulations.
  • Attends safety meetings
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean production area and workshop.
  • Must be familiar with OSHA regulations and be able to recognize and correct any weakness.
  • Properly utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including mandatory use of eye protection and hearing protection. Gloves and sleeves may also be required for some tasks.
  • Proper use of Lockout/Tagout procedures
  • Safe use of an authorized utility knife.
  • Completes necessary housekeeping duties in work area at all times
  • Complies with all OSHA/Company safety requirements.
  • Knowledgeable of location of MSDS, First Aid Supplies, fire extinguishers, exits.
  • Participates actively in workplace safety.
  • Notifies supervisors of accidents, near misses, or unsafe working conditions.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area to promote a safe work environment.

2. Diagnoses and repairs equipment:

  • Responds with a sense of urgency to problems within the plant
  • Communicates needs or concerns of equipment breakdowns in the timely manner.
  • Rebuild equipment and assemblies as needed.
  • Modifies existing equipment as needed.

3. Performs Preventive Maintenance tasks;

  • Complete required preventive maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Communicate any problems or concerns that arise within the scope of completing PM’s of equipment to the appropriate individual for further action.

4. Installation and removal of equipment

  • Complete tasks involved in the installation and/or removal of equipment in an effective and timely manner.

5. Food Safety Responsibility

  • Fundamental understanding of HACCP.
  • Compliant to CgMP Program.
  • Assures Calibrations are completed.
  • Assures facilities, equipment, processes are compliant to SQFI 2000 Level 2 within the scope of Job Function.
  • In the absence of operation personnel, halts all processes posing a threat to Food Safety and notifies supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance
  • Communication skills
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and 100 lbs with assistance
Competency Requirements:
  • Basic math skills
  • Read and comprehend English
  • Ability to coordinate the activities of the maintenance technician
  • Knowledge of basic electricity
  • Knowledge of basic machine mechanics
  • Must be familiar with OSHA regulations and have the ability to recognize and correct any system weaknesses.
Desired Competency Requirements:
  • Electrical certification
