Position TitleSUMMER VACATION RELIEF  

Mativ is currently accepting applications for five (5) Summer Vacation Relief positions to fill vacancies for its Whiting Mill located in Stevens Point, WI. Summer Vacation Relief provide support by performing tasks such as assisting and/or operating paper mill equipment, including a variety of material handling equipment and tools.  

Rate of pay will be $26.82/hour plus shift differential. They will work shifts as needed. This includes 1st shift (7a-3p), 2nd shift (3p-11p), and 3rd shift (11p-7a). These positions will be utilized between May 6, 2024 - September 9, 2024.  

Employees hired for summer vacation relief shall accrue no seniority and may be laid off or terminated at the discretion of the company at any time during this period.   

   

responsibilities:  

A combination of experience in the following areas is desirable:  

  • Demonstrate personal safety awareness and promote a safe work environment
  • Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Solid computer skills
  • Operate high speed equipment after an initial training period
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team or self-directed work environment
  • Ability to work safely and productively in a mill environment. (shiftwork, long hours, hot environment)
  • Paper machine, converting, or other process related experience preferred but not required
  • Must be available to work rotating 8-hour shifts that include weekends, holidays and overtime as necessary.
  • Must be able to perform typical physical aspects of the job, including standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, twisting, reaching, and navigating stairs.

Required  

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  • First consideration will be given to:
    • Previously employed summer vacation relief
    • Children of active employees
  • One entry per family, unless no other available candidates.
  • Selection will be by sponsor employee mill seniority. Sponsor employee must be noted in the Reference Field of the application form.
  • Must be enrolled as a fulltime student in an accredited college or technical school.
