Our EH&S Specialist supports Mativ’s Sustainable & Adhesive Solutions Function. The EH&S Coordinator will provide environmental health and safety support to assigned operations and will ensure that all practices are in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulatory and ISO requirements. The position will be responsible for coordinating regulatory programs and their permitting applications and support the development and coordination of safety and health training programs utilizing principles of the Milliken Safety Program. This position is based in Windsor, CT and reports to the EH&S Manager.
 
responsibilities:
 
  • Champion the Safety programs in Mativ Windsor, CT manufacturing site.
  • Be the site expert on all Health and Safety laws, regulations and rules on a federal, state, local, and company basis.
  • Work throughout the organization to create a safety culture on all levels.
  • Represent Windsor on all Health and Safety matters internally and externally.
  • Ensure compliance to all laws and regulations.
qualifications:
Required
  • 2-year degree in a relevant technical field
  • 5 years minimum experience managing a safety program for at least one manufacturing site with heavy use of chemicals.
  • Ability to translate all federal, state and local laws and regulations into a Health and Safety Plan
  • Skilled in hands-on training for all Health and Safety Requirements
  • Capable of working within all levels of the organization and with outside contacts.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing behavioral cultural change.
  • Worked within an ISO or regulated environment.
  • Implemented a behavior-based Safety Program
  • Expert Knowledge in Health and Safety laws and regulations
  • Excel, Word, Office and DB abilities
Preferred
  • Experience in a Health Care manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with solvent based products.
  • Certified Trainer
  • Able to use and operate environmental measuring devices (e.g.: sound levels, air quality)
