Description

Responsibilities:

•    Assume full responsibility for all manufacturing activity and the resulting performance during your shift.
•    Enforce all Health & Safety policies and regulations, ensuring a safe work environment.
•    Work with team to determine root cause and corrective action to internal and external complaints.  Implement and sustain corrective actions. 
•    Understand delivery requirements and work within departments to assure maximum on-time delivery performance. 
•    Understand sources of scrap and work within each department to minimize. 
•    Generate and issue a daily performance report using SAP data at the end of each shift.   In the report, explain the reasons for both good and bad performance.  
•    Work with management to define safety, delivery, quality, cost, scrap, and productivity KPI goals. Update performance on KPI boards every month.

•    Create content for, schedule, conduct, and document toolbox meetings to maintain open communication between hourly employees and leadership. This meeting should include the review of department KPIs.
•    Work with department leaders to determine daily work assignments. 
•    Issue discipline to production employees and communicate issues with HR as needed.
•    Facilitate the Cell Lead team and hold team members accountable to agreed action items.
•    Assure good housekeeping practices.
•    Analyze and correct production variances and work with the team to address causes. 
•    Prepare and conduct performance reviews. 
•    Cross-train employees for flexibility within and across departments.
•    Lead or participate in all continuous improvement activities, including 5S.
•    Provide continuous feedback and coaching to all your employees. 
•    Enforce company policy.  When required, document and provide disciplinary action. 
•    Work with operators and support staff to ensure accuracy of bookings and line clearance.   
•    Perform the proper shutdown of equipment and facility at weekend or before a holiday.
•    Assure a clear transfer of information between shifts.
•    Perform all other assignments as requested by management.

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
•    High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
•    2+ years’ experience in production or maintenance
•    Exceptional ability to quickly analyze, assess, and correct process problems on converting, packaging, and support equipment.
•    Knowledge and understanding of mechanical components and systems and the ability to conduct maintenance and repairs.
•    Knowledge and understanding of electrical circuits and controls and ability to perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs. 
•    Ability to read, write and speak English; bi-lingual Spanish a plus.
•    Ability to work safely and effectively in a dynamic & diverse production environment.
•    Basic computer literacy in MS Office.
•    Ability to operate industrial lifting and material handling equipment.
•    Ability to work flexible schedules and overtime as needed.

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
•    Working knowledge of cGMP, ISO, and FDA regulations is a plus.
•    Previous forklift and/ or motorized aerial work platform training
