Job Summary:

The position is primarily responsible for the sales management and revenue performance of European Service and Rental operations. Primarily a commercially a driven role leading cross functional teams and projects in order to build a robust European Service and Rental revenue platform.


Implementing and evolving best in class business sales processes and solutions, ensuring a structured work of promotional and sales related activities.


Develop and drive the business strategy for accelerated sustainable business growth of primarily the Xylem portfolio. Services and related products, accessories, SaaS and other badged products to position Xylem as the leading Water Company in Europe.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:


  • Develop a strategic development plan for all Service and Rental sales activities in Europe, including both existing and future services.
  • Work closely with our Growth Centres and Regional Service and Rental Managers to ensure that we develop our service portfolio offerings and align our commercial initiatives such as sales and marketing campaigns.
  • Develop commercial models and processes for new services offerings
  • To co-ordinate, develop and manage the service and rental sales activities in order to meet commercial demands and achieve company targets & budgets offered by the Services and Rental team.
  • Implement and develop innovative best practice processes and procedures using existing and potentially new IT tools like ServiceMax, Salesforce and others.
  • Monitor commercial project progress plans and their budgets and report periodic progress to stakeholders and management.
  • Manage prioritization of projects and activities within the area ensuring timescales are met
  • Develop and improve the performance of sales and growth within service and rental business in terms of revenue and sales productivity. Undertake project reviews and take actions to generate the targeted margin and revenue.
  • Be a change agent and drive sales related continuous improvement, evaluate process improvements and collaborate with the Continuous Improvement team to drive implementation of change.
  • Provide monthly reports and metrics indicating performance levels, trends, areas of concern, factors affecting current or future business levels/plans.
  • Day to day management of the department and teams to ensure effective performance management and succession planning is undertaken. Coaching and mentoring of employees to develop capability.
  • Overseeing and managing the adherence to all SLA’s and KPI’s associated with our current service and rental agreements/frameworks.
  • Provide to the EU Service Director forecasting, monthly reports, indicating performance levels, trends, areas of concern, factors affecting current or future business levels/plans.
  • Assessing competitive and market environment and maintain knowledge of the needs of customers across Europe.
  • Evaluate the Organisational Succession Plans to ensure that the recruitment, training / re-training and needs are planned and programmed.
  • Implement and maintain effective cost control utilizing and adhering to Xylem policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the achievement of annual CPG goals and review those for all the team members.
  • Assist the company in maintaining the highest possible standards of Compliance, Ethics and EHS&Q, all in accordance with current legislation and policies laid down by the company.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Interfacing with Growth Centers, Commercial Team sales and delivery teams.
  • Working closely with the various GCs to support strategy and execution.
  • Encourage inter departmental collaboration and drive team accountability.
  • Implement and maintain effective cost control utilizing and adhering to Xylem policies and procedures.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • MSc or BSc in engineering, business or equivalent.
  • Proven commercial and financial understanding.
  • Preferably experience/background in water industry.
  • Strong people management skills, experience of leading large scale operations.
  • Able to demonstrate high level experience in managing budgets.
  • Proven project management experience and understanding of project methodology.
