The CI Specialist, under the supervision of the CI Leader, is responsible for leading project teams to improve critical business processes and drive financial results.
The CI Specialist must fulfill the needs of the company in a manner which is consistent with Corporate’s vision and values.
Primary responsibilities include:
1.Process Improvement & Optimization:
Lead improvement projects within the Growth Center and effectively coordinate these projects with the CI Site Leader and other improvement project teams. Identify integration issues with other projects/process and coordinate the improvements with the appropriate project/process owners to accomplish the project goals.
2. Project Management: Project leadership includes:
Support CI Site Leader in project identification to achieve the company target: defining & financially justifying projects; launching project teams; using good project management to manage team activities; leading teams to execute projects with the Lean Six Sigma problem solving methodology; tracking project status and results; removing and elevating project barriers; and development team members. Ensure projects integration with other business activities, improvement projects and business strategy.
3. Strategic Analysis:
Manage the development and maintenance of methods and systems for measuring the degree to which the project goals, objectives and metrics are being met.
Provide CI Site Leader measurement results and recommend appropriate corrective action. Ensure two-way communication takes place throughout organization with respect to CI projects. Keep CI Site Leader informed of program status and ensure coordination of activities with other CI Specialist.
4. Training & Development:
Identify potential CI Specialist and recruit team members into the CI infrastructure. Provide training and coaching to team members to spread the base of Lean Six Sigma problem solving tools and increase team effectiveness.
Capturing project case histories that can be re-used for other projects and submitting them in a best practices format when appropriate
Proven project management and leadership abilities in a team environment
Superior oral & written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels within and outside of the company;
3+ years of industrial/manufacturing process improvement experience, preferably in a leadership/supervisory role;
- BS/MS in Engineering (i.e., Mechanical, Industrial, Systems, etc.) or Business;
- Green belt certified.
- Black Belt certificate is a plus.
