Duties: Responsible for primarily back-end development for the MedSims platform. Interface with the product, support, professional services and client teams to provide technical guidance and drive future platform expansion. Collaborate with various teams to understand future product direction and requirements, and turn those into reality for the platform. Engage and evangelize agile software development methodologies and educate others on the best uses of open source technologies. Create well-structured, optimized, and modular object-oriented code. Manage projects to a deadline, ensuring projects reach the finish line. Serve as a technical expert resource to other team members, answering questions and providing ideas to solve programming challenges. When needed, communicate with our clients' technical teams to clarify requirements and overall project delivery.

Requirements: Employer will accept Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related technical field and three years of work experience in job offered, or three years of work experience in a related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept five years of work experience in job offered, or five years of work experience in a related occupation. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience. Position requires: 1) Developing object-oriented software; 2) Programming in PHP 5; 3) MySQL and relational database design; 4) Web development experience, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX; 5) SOAP and REST web service consumption, as well as third-party API integration; 6) Automated testing, either unit, behavioral, functional and/or UI; 7) Linux/Unix command line usage and shell scripting; 8) Cloud hosting providers; 9) Git, Subversion, or other SCM tools; and, 10) Application performance tuning.
