THE ROLE  

Reporting directly to the Manager of Underwriting, the Junior Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting and performing diligence on multifamily real estate investment opportunities. The position requires close cooperation and coordination with other team members across all disciplines of the organization.

THE DETAILS  

  • Analyze acquisition and occasionally development/add-on opportunities in multifamily (and other property types to a lesser extent) by performing/conducting the following (but not limited to):
    • Financial modeling
    • Financial statement analysis
    • Rent roll analysis
    • Market research
    • Site inspection
    • Due diligence
  • Prepare preliminary investment committee packages during the pre-pursuit phase as well as in-depth packages for final investment approval
  • Provide support and direction during all phases of an asset’s lifecycle from acquisition to asset management to possible disposition
  • Support/lead ancillary acquisition-related projects when needed

THE QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or related field required
  • 2+ years real estate underwriting experience, with some exposure to multifamily
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft applications required
  • Exceptional judgment and decision-making skills, with proven mathematical acumen in underwriting complex deals
  • Strict focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to think critically while working independently
  • Strong project management skills, with ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Solid organizational skills, including ability to collaborate and lead effectively in a cross-functional team environment
