LOCATION:                       Hybrid / Corporate Office in Richmond Hill, Ontario

SALARY:                           $115,000- $140,000, up to 15% discretionary incentive target*

        THE OPPORTUNITY

        The successful candidate will maintain a robust hands-on approach to financial management, taking ownership of key components of the corporate month‑end close, consolidated reporting, and forward‑looking financial planning. They will actively participate in aspects of the forecasting, budgeting, and analysis process, and will play a crucial role in driving financial accuracy, operational insight, and strategic decision‑making. This individual will join a team of our most trusted finance professionals—collaborating to execute the firm’s financial and business strategies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and championing enhanced reporting, efficiency, and analytical rigor across the firm.

        KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

        Corporate Accounting

        • Lead the corporate month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and supporting schedules.
        • Prepare the month end report for the senior leadership team, ensuring accuracy, completeness and clear performance commentary.
        • Prepare monthly variance analysis, identifying key drivers and communicating actionable insights to senior management.
        • Maintain strong internal controls and documentation.

        Financial Forecasting, Planning and Analysis 

        • Contribute to the preparation of accurate and insightful financial forecasts and performance reports to provide actionable insights to senior management.
        • Create and maintain financial models to evaluate different scenarios, assess the impact of business initiatives, and support investment decisions.
        • Support improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
        • Present financial information, analyses, and recommendations to finance leadership in a clear and concise manner.
        • Track, measure, and report corporate and divisional performance against financial and operational targets, providing clear analysis and insights to help leaders understand results and take corrective action where needed.
        • Escalate financial issues, breaches of cash balance targets and adverse KPIs.

         Other Ad Hoc

        • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop ad hoc analyses for evolving operational and strategic needs.
        • Assist in the implementation of Workday Adaptive Planning.

        CANDIDATE PROFILE      

        • CPA designation is required for this role; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
        • MBA, CFA, or CBV is an asset.
        • Min 5+ years of corporate accounting experience, ideally including ownership of month‑end close; background in the multi-family sector is a plus.
        • Extensive background in building complex financial models, developing metrics, and delivering advanced analytics; experience with Workday Adaptive Planning and PowerBI a plus.
        • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset.
        • Experience with Oracle Fusion and SQL is an asset.
